3rd XBRL Conference
The third XBRL Conference will take place January 18, 2008 in Belgrade (Hotel HYATT Regency). On-line Conference registration is available at: http://www1.apr.sr.gov.yu/conference/XBRL.aspx
Key-note speakers are: Ms. Liv A. Watson – Vice President of Global Strategy at EDGAR Online, Inc and Mr. Paolo Lombardi, Director of the Group’s Contact Center of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena.
Conference will be divided into following parts:
1. “XBRL Development and Implementation: Achievements, Plans and Issues”.
2. In the second part, we would like to concentrate on some “hot topic(s)” that would be interesting for all the attendees (presentations with the discussions), and thus – it would be either: “XBRL filing: Mandatory or Not?” or “Building Feasible National Taxonomies: Harmonization and Standardization”.
As this will be the first conference on XBRL issues to be held out of Western Europe, our idea is that it should help the promoters of the XBRL in Serbia and in the SEE region, and therefore, would like to spend some time on the presentations and discussions which will facilitate knowledge transfer from the “early adopters” of the XBRL to the region.
3. So, the third part could have the following theme: “How to Improve Awareness of the Benefits of XBRL Implementation” and/or “How to Make XBRL Best Practices Reusable, Especially in Western Balkans and New EU Countries” (we are sure that this will be interesting for all ex-socialist countries, where the challenge is the adoption of the international accounting standards itself, and even more, its automation through the usage of XBRL).
As usual, the Conference will provide an overview of the latest XBRL developments and the status of XBRL implementation. This time, we will have the experience of:
- Ms. Paola Fumiani and Mr. Piero Milani, from the Italian Infocamere
- Mr. Arthur West and Ms. Jo Jones, from the UK Companies House
- Ms. Monica Grahn and Ms. Helene Ålund, from the Companies Registration Office in Sweden
- Mr. Matthieu van Bommel from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce
- Mr. Yves Gonner, Managing Director of the Commercial and Companies’ Register.
